Successful Testing and Validation of the World’s First Full-Scale HTS Coil for Renewable Power Generation
Zenergy Power plc (AIM:ZEN.L), the specialist manufacturer and developer of commercial applications for high-temperature superconductive (‘HTS’) materials, is pleased to announce that its collaborative partner for wind and hydro power, Converteam SAS, has successfully completed testing and validation of the Group’s fi rst full-scale HTS coil for renewable power generation. The full-scale coil in question was constructed by the Group at its purpose built facilities in Rheinbach, Germany and will be used in the construction of the world‘s fi rst HTS based hydro-electric power generator that has been ordered for commercial use by E.ON Wasserkraft GmbH (‘E.ON-WK’). The HTS hydro generator will be manufactured in the United Kingdom at Converteam’s facilities based in Rugby and will deliver signifi cant improvements in electrical energy effi ciency to E.ON-WK’s commercial hydro-dam and consequently increase its overall power output by 36%. As Germany‘s largest producer of hydro-electric power, E.ON-WK currently produces more than 10 billion kilowatt hours of hydro-electric power per annum. Read more ...

Key FCL Milestone: Successful testing and Launch of Commercial Grid Stability Device
Zenergy Power plc (AIM:ZEN.L), the specialist manufacturer and developer of commercial products utilising high-temperature superconductive (‘HTS’) materials, is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed testing of the Group‘s fi rst commercial HTS Fault Current Limiter (‚FCL‘) in order to qualify it for installation into commercial electricity power grids. The FCL unit in question is based upon a prior development model that was designed, built and tested by the Group last year and has been constructed for installation into the commercial electricity grid of Southern California Edison (‚SCE‘). The Group will now deliver the completed FCL unit to SCE in December of this year, after which it will be installed into the Avanti distribution circuit of the Californian power grid following SCE’s own pre-installation tests. Zenergy HTS Induction Heater Operations Update
Zenergy Power plc (AIM: ZEN.L), the specialist manufacturer and developer of commercial applications for high-temperature superconductive (‘HTS‘) materials, is pleased to provide the following update on the industrial performance of the world‘s fi rst HTS induction heater installed into the commercial premises of Weseralu GmbH (‘Weseralu’) in July of this year.

Following its installation by the Group and its manufacturing partner, Bültmann GmbH, the machine is now fully integrated into Weseralu’s commercial operations, where, for over three months, it has operated consistently and at full capacity. Operational data results collected by Weseralu have demonstrated that throughout this period, the induction heater has delivered signifi cant increases in industrial output whilst greatly improving the overall energy effi ciency of Weseralu’s industrial operation. Furthermore, the Group is delighted to report that the machine’s performance data has comfortably surpassed any previous expectations of both the customer’s and Zenergy’s management teams. MDdatacor Chosen to Support Health Care Quality Program for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska
Atlanta, GA, September 22, 2008 – MDdatacor, Inc., a leader in health care quality management solutions for health plans and providers, today announced a new contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) to support the health plan’s quality program, which initially focuses on members with diabetes and hypertension. BCBSNE serves nearly 700,000 members throughout the state.

BCBSNE will rely on MDdatacor’s patented and interoperable CareInformatixTM technology to automate the collection of clinical data from primary care physician practices’ existing electronic medical record, practice management, lab and registry systems, as well as transcribed notes, which means that even physicians without electronic systems will be able to participate in the program. ROXRO PHARMA Presents Migraine Proof-of-Concept Data at the European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress 2008
MENLO PARK, CA (September 06, 2008) ROXRO PHARMA, Inc. today presented additional results of its product candidate ROX-828 which is in development for the treatment of migraine pain. These data are a follow on to its previously announced successful Phase 2 proof of concept study. The data were presented in a poster at The European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress in London. ROXRO presented additional information on ROX-828 indicating that more patients treated with ROX-828 achieved pain relief and pain free status than those treated with placebo. ROXRO also presented data indicating that associated migraine symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to noise were improved with ROX-828 treatment. In addition, more patients who received ROX-828 reported much better and very much better efficacy 2 hours after dosing, than did patients who received placebo (p=0.008).Read more ...

Zenergy Announces Successful Operation of World’s First Commercial Full Scale HTS Induction Heater
Zenergy Power plc (AIM:ZEN.L), the specialist manufacturer and developer of commercial applications for high-temperature superconductive (‘HTS’) materials, is pleased to announce that it has completed the successful installation and operation of the world’s fi rst commercial full scale HTS induction heater for Weseralu GmbH & Co. KG (‘Weseralu’) at its manufacturing facility in Minden, Germany.

The HTS induction heater is based on Zenergy’s proprietary technology and is specifi cally designed for heating large aluminium billets that can be manipulated when softened and shaped for innumerable products in the automotive, aerospace and machine building industries. Weseralu, which currently produces 14,000 tonnes of extruded aluminium per annum, using two conventional induction heaters, ordered the unit in late September 2007, a mere four months after the completion of its development and industrial testing, as previously announced on 22 May 2007. ROXRO Pharma Announces Positive Clinical Proof of Concept Results for Novel Intranasal Migraine Treatment
MENLO PARK, CA (April 28, 2008) – ROXRO PHARMA, Inc. today announced positive top-line data from a clinical study of the company's novel investigational intranasal pain reliever in the treatment of migraine and related symptoms.

The placebo-controlled proof of concept study evaluated the efficacy and safety of ROX-828, an intranasal formulation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) pain reliever ketorolac. Conducted at 17 sites in Germany and Finland, the trial involved 68 patients who received ROX-828 and 72 patients who received placebo. Zenergy Announces Commercial Contract for Department of Homeland Security Project
Zenergy Power plc (AIM:ZEN.L), the specialist manufacturer and developer of commercial applications for high-temperature superconductive (‘HTS’) materials, is pleased to announce that it has been contracted, on fully commercial terms, to carry out a technology employment study of its patented HTS Fault Current Limiter (‘FCL’) for Consolidated Edison, Inc. (‘Con Edison’), the United States’ largest investor-owned energy company. The study will form the basis of the formal provision of technical analysis on how the Group’s FCL would protect New York City from the damaging effects of power surges, once installed into Con Edison’s power grid there. Con Edison will also use the study to evaluate the role that Zenergy’s proprietary technology can play in the creation of ‘Secure Super Grids’ in the United States. The technical analysis is a commercial contract and forms part of the US$39million U.S. Department of Homeland Security project named Hydra, which is aimed at developing power grids in the United States that can keep centres of commerce on line under all conditions – including grid events related to severe weather, accidents or terrorist attacks. Zenergy Announces Commercial Upgrade and Grid Qualification of World’s First HTS Hydro-Generator
Zenergy Power plc (AIM:ZEN.L), the specialist manufacturer and developer of commercial applications for high-temperature superconductive (‘HTS’) materials, is pleased to announce the following update on its groundbreaking project to build and install the world’s first HTS hydro-generator into a commercially operating hydroelectric power station.

On 23 October 2006, Zenergy announced that E.ON Wasserkraft GmbH (‘E.ON-WK’) would install an HTS hydro-generator powered by Zenergy’s proprietary HTS technology. Today, the Group is pleased to announce that E.ON-WK has now informed Zenergy of its desire to upgrade the HTS hydro-generator (which is currently under development for use at its hydro-electric power station in Bavaria, Germany) – on fully commercial terms – from its current electrical capacity of 1.25 MW to that of 1.7 MW. In conjunction with the installation, E.ON-WK will also undertake at their own cost to replace the stations’ existing turbines with ones incorporating higher capacity blades specifically to drive the newly installed and upgraded HTS generator.
